Curator of Digital Design at the Victoria and Albert Museum
Natalie D Kane is Curator of Digital Design at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. She is also Co-Curator of Haunted Machines alongside artist and designer Tobias Revell, who have been selected to curate the 2017 edition of Impakt Festival (NL): Haunted Machines & Wicked Problems. Natalie also works with futures research lab Changeist, and previously acted as Curator of FutureEverything, an innovation lab for digital culture in Manchester, UK. She has been invited to speak on design, culture and technology at London Design Festival, New York Times and re.publica, and has written for Tate galleries, WdW review, and Vice’s Motherboard.
In this talk, Natalie will unfold the narratives we tell ourselves to make sense of changes in technology, and where our relationship with data can lead to horror stories. Where are developments in digital design causing new ethical dilemmas, and increasing our capacity for hauntings?
