We Love York

Friday 31st August 2018 by Rick Chadwick in 2018

Here’s a little listicle of some of our favourite things to see and do in York to make the most of your time in our lovely city. Of course, York has all the usual chains you’d expect but we’ve tried to pick out the independents (or small, local chains).

Things to see & do

  • York Mediale 2018 - 10 days of performances, installations, music and more between 27th September and 6th October.
  • Walk the walls - a 2 mile walk around the medieval walls encircling the city, take your camera
  • Ghost Walk - if you pick the right ones, they’re a great way of getting familar with the city and learning a little history
  • National Railway Museum - trains
  • Fossgate - Merchant’s Quarter - a selection of independent shops, cafes, bars and more
  • The Shambles - everyone else does it, you might as well walk down this street as well (especially if you like those wizard books)
  • York Art Gallery
  • York Minster
  • York Museum Gardens - our venues for 2018 are within the gardens but there’s more to see
  • Yorkshire’s Jurassic World
