We’re super-pleased to be able to announce that this years DotYork will be a part of York Mediale - a brand new international festival exploring the future of art, technology and everything in between.
The 10-day programme of exhibitiors, performances, lectures, workshops, and more runs from 27th September to 6th October 2018 at venues across the city. We first met with York Mediale back in October last year and have been excited about the potential of our partnership ever since.
We are delighted to be welcoming such an interesting group of speakers to York in October to share their learning, bring to light the latest developments in their fields and debate the most current and vital issues with delegates. We are really excited about the possibilities that will arise from bringing these great minds together in this inspiring heritage city to discuss the future.Tom Higham, Creative Director of York Mediale
What does that mean for you & DotYork?
As York residents it’s fantastic for us to see a festival of this scale in our city and we can’t wait to see some of the exhibitions and attend events ourselves.
For DotYork, it’s an opportunity for us to open up to a wider audience (important to ensure we can continue putting on the event), the festival (and York’s) international status as a UNESCO City of Media Arts means we can help support and promote local businesses and speakers on a much bigger scale, and its a chance to be a part of what we’re sure will be an amazing festival.
For you, you’ll see get to some brilliant speakers that being part of this event has helped us attract, there’ll also be loads of cool things for you to see and do around the city: exhibitions, installations, performance, music and more. Check out YorkMediale.com for the full listings.
Of course, you’ll also be getting all the usual things that are known and loved about DotYork: a community-driven event, unconventional formats, unheard voices, a cracking compere, safe space conversations, a friendly environment… but you can also expect some surprises along the way.
