Dot York 2017 - What Cost What?

Thursday 7th December 2017 by Rick Chadwick in 2017

On average, a standard ticket for Dot York 2017 was £90.

There are a lot of caveats to this but, roughly, here’s where that money went this year:

  • We spent £33 on the venue, including AV (37%)
  • £9 was your lunch (10%)
  • £34 went on speaker fees, hotels and expenses (38%)
  • £14 went on marketing costs, printed materials and other expenses (15%)

In case you were wondering, this is pretty much average compared with Dot York events from the past few years.

We’d love to be able to make the event more affordable for you in the future (and we’re working hard to try and make that happen) but, when you look at the figures like that, it’s not immediately obvious how to do that and still break even.

That’s still our financial goal for every event by the way, to break even. Dot York has never and will never be about lining pockets of anyone involved, we simply run Dot York because we believe it’s a good thing to do, and we really enjoy it.
